Yamamoto - summer songs for winter people (2010, Poni Republic)

Inconsolable we are, of the disappearance of Komeït, and very rare are those likely to take up the torch. We had Anois, now we have Yamamoto too, and both are rare, discreet and infinitely precious. 

The duo comes from Tijuana, Mexico, yes, not the place where you would expect such oversensitive and subtle bedroom pop, mixing perfectly electronics, male/female vocals and guitars.

Sunday Parlours / Anois - split ep (2007, Poni Republic)

Free split ep between two duo/couples from Germany, which I both enjoyed through previous releases, this record is even better than expected.

And only bands with a similar structure can be conceived as references and these four songs are made in their own essence to please fans of Komeit, The Secret Stars, Ida, A Weather or even Empress / New North Wales.

Songs For Sunday Parlours - ep (Poni Republic, 2007)

This is the second ep by Songs for Sunday Parlours, at first once again a self-released cdr with precious artwork in late 2006, but finally reissued as a netrelease on Poni Republic early 2007.

Seven tracks for almost nineteen minutes, and the result are even more minimalist than on their debut ep. Malte Jantzen and Saskia Waldeck mix their voice for delicate shy and whispered harmonies. They use soft acoustic guitar and some sparse bass, keyboard and harmonica notes.
